(Hudson River Style) American
American School painting in the Hudson River style Circa 1850. In the 19th century, amateur artists frequently copied images from printed publications. This view is from a Bartlett print circa 1840, and is known as "The View From Hyde Park." It features the panorama seen when looking northwest up the Hudson River toward the Catskills.
