Biography/Statement:
“The roads we choose in life, no matter how practical or conventional, eventually touch on the path our soul has chosen, if we remain open to change. Early in life I sought convention through a formal education in the sciences with vocational forays in pharmaceuticals, academia, and information technology. Although interesting, I realized that what I wanted to convey to our world, I could only do by using the language of art.
Born the youngest of nine to parents that migrated to Athens, NY after WWII, my pursuit of art began in the early 70’s painting watercolors and oils at the dining room table for the enjoyment of my mother who was in her last stages of life. So then began my lifelong pursuit of art with academic schooling in drawing and painting under Franklin Alexander at both the University of Albany and the Woodstock School of Art. My work has been included in local, regional and national exhibitions including, but not limited to the following: Athens Cultural Center, Hudson Opera House, Columbia County Council on the Arts, Greene County Council on the Arts, NYS Founda8on of the Arts MARK Award recipient, Hudson Mohawk Regional Exhibition – the Hyde Collection, Hudson Mohawk Regional Exhibition – Albany Institute of History and Art, The Arkel Museum, Spencertown Art Academy, Emerge Gallery, Berkshire Museum ‘Art of the Hills 2024′, 8th Annual Northeast Fine Arts Exhibition 2025, the Bristol Museum ‘When in the Course of Human Events’ 2026, Bristol, RI., the Rockport Art Association and Museum National Juried Show 2026 and, The 20th International Gild of Realism Exhibition 2026, Principle Art Gallery, Charleston SC. My work is also included in numerous private collections in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.”
